Find the Verse
Free daily Bible game. Find the verse in 5 tries.
The game is loading.
How to play
- Read the verse. Where in the Bible is it?
- Choose the book. Then type the chapter and the verse, two numbers each. Psalm 23:1 is 23:01.
- Press the green check. The tiles flip to show how close you were.
Say the answer is Romans 8:30 and you guess Romans 3:16. You would see this:
Romans is the right book. The 0 is in the right spot. The 3 is in the reference, but in another spot. The 1 and the 6 aren't in it.
- Green: The right book, or a number in the right spot.
- Yellow: The number is in the reference, but in another spot.
- Grey: The number isn't in the reference.
If you pick the wrong book, you get a hint about whether the verse comes before or after it. You have five guesses.
Questions
Is Find the Verse free?
Yes. It's free to play here, with no ads, no account and no sign-up. Your results are saved only in your own browser.
Is it the same puzzle as the app?
Yes. It's the same daily puzzle we're building into the Flip the Script app. Everyone gets the same verse on the same day, wherever they play.
Which Bible version does it use?
The Berean Standard Bible (BSB), which is in the public domain. When a sentence keeps going into the next verse, the verse ends with three dots so you know words were left out.
When does a new puzzle come out?
Every day at midnight in your own time zone. Everyone gets the same verse on the same day. Under your result, a clock counts down to the next one.
Can I play past days or practice?
You can practice as much as you like. Tap Practice for a random verse that isn't coming up as a daily puzzle soon. Practice doesn't change your streak or your stats. Past daily puzzles can't be replayed.
How does the streak work?
Find the verse on days in a row and your streak grows. A missed day or a loss starts it over. Your streak is saved in this browser, so it doesn't follow you to another phone or computer.
Do you keep track of my guesses?
No. We count how many people start, finish and share the game, but we never see what you guess.
