Bible verses for when you feel like giving up

You've been pushing for a long time and you're running low. These verses are for the point where quitting starts to sound good.

The thought

“What's the use? I'm too tired to keep trying.”

The truth

God gives strength to people who are worn out, and effort for Him is never wasted.

Four verses for today

  1. 1Galatians 6:9

    Read in context
Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Paul says to keep doing good because tired people can lose heart. It promises a harvest in God's time, not a quick result.

  2. 2Hebrews 12:3

    Read in context
Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

When you're worn down, look at Jesus, who endured much more. That's how you keep from losing heart.

  3. 3Isaiah 40:31

    Read in context
But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.

Strength comes from waiting on the Lord. It's given to the tired, not the already strong.

  4. 41 Corinthians 15:58

    Read in context
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and immovable. Always excel in the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Paul tells the church their work for the Lord counts, even when you can't see what it's doing.

Verses from the Berean Standard Bible.

A prayer

God, I'm worn out and part of me wants to stop. Give me strength for today and help me trust that what I do for you matters. Show me if I need rest, and help me not quit just because I'm tired. Amen.
